Okay, here’s my blog post about Rat and Rooster compatibility, told from my personal experience:
So, the other day, I got curious about Chinese zodiac compatibility. You know, just one of those random things you start wondering about. I’m a Rat, and I’ve always been kinda fascinated by how different zodiac signs are supposed to interact. I decided to look into Rat and Rooster compatibility, specifically.
I started by, well, just Googling it. I know, super scientific, right? I found a bunch of websites, some saying it was a great match, others saying it was a disaster. The internet, being the internet, gave me every possible answer. That wasn’t very helpful.

I decided I needed a better approach. So I thought about people I knew. I tried to recall any Rat and Rooster couples I had ever known, or even just friends. That was gonna be my ‘real world’ data.
I spent about a day, just thinking about past relationships, friend groups, even family members. I jotted down notes. It was more challenging than i expect!
- My Aunt Carol (Rooster) and her ex-husband, Uncle Mark (Rat). Their relationship was…fiery. Lots of arguments, but also a strange kind of passion. They eventually divorced.
- My colleague, Jane (Rat) and her co-worker friend, Tom(Rooster). They have a very good friendship.
After I thought about my personal list, I started to compare it to the things that I had read on the internet. The part that talked about the Rooster’s tendency to be critical? I’d seen that play out for sure, between my uncle and aunt. The bit about the Rat’s resourcefulness? Yeah, that seemed to fit with some of the Rats I knew, they are the type of people to always find a way to get things done.
But I didn’t see it all in the same way. I tried to combine my data, and realized something, my results didn’t quite fit on either of the answers I’d seen on the internet! The sample size of people I knew was tiny, of course. But it gave me a much more “real” perspective, I think.
My Conclusion?
It’s complicated! Just like any relationship, really. While the general traits of each sign might give you some clues, it’s really about the individual people. Are they willing to work on things? Do they communicate well? Those things probably matter way more than what some website says about zodiac signs.
So, that’s my little experiment. It wasn’t exactly scientific, but it was a fun way to spend a few days. And it reminded me that people are more complex than any simple categories we try to put them in.
