Okay, so I’ve been digging into this whole “Taurus decans” thing lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a rabbit hole. I started out just curious, you know, like, what’s the deal with these decans I keep hearing about?
First, I had to figure out what a decan actually is. Turns out, it’s basically a way of dividing up each zodiac sign into three smaller chunks, each ruled by a different planet. Think of it like slicing a pie into smaller pieces. Each slice is still Taurus, but it has a slightly different flavor.
So, I started by good old googling “Taurus decans”. That gave me a bunch of articles and websites. Honestly, some of them were pretty confusing, with all this astrology jargon I didn’t understand. But I pushed through and found a few that explained it in a way that made sense.

I learned that the first decan of Taurus (roughly April 20th – April 30th) is ruled by Venus, just like Taurus itself. So, this part is supposed to be extra Taurean – super sensual, loves luxury, all that good stuff.
Then, I moved onto the second decan (roughly May 1st – May 10th), which is ruled by Mercury. This one is supposed to be a bit more mental, more communicative, maybe a little more practical than the first decan. It’s like Taurus with a dash of Gemini or Virgo energy, I guess.
Finally, I dug into the third decan (roughly May 11th – May 20th), ruled by Saturn. This is where things got interesting. Saturn is all about discipline, structure, and responsibility. So, this decan of Taurus is supposed to be the most grounded, the most hardworking, maybe even a little bit serious.
I even started experimenting with myself. Because I was born on May 16th, I belong to the Third Decan. After reading many websites and forums, I began to deeply analyze my own behavior and the characteristics of the constellation.
-
First Decan (Venus):
Extra sensual, enjoys luxury.
-
Second Decan (Mercury):
More communicative and practical.
-
Third Decan (Saturn):
Grounded, hardworking, and responsible.
It’s all pretty fascinating, and I’m definitely going to keep exploring this. I figured out that the basic information, and now I wanted to see how it played out in real life, maybe by looking at the charts of people I know. I am still in a deep learning curve.
