Okay, so I’ve been trying to get more intentional with my tarot readings, you know? Like, not just pulling cards and being like, “Cool, what does that mean?” but actually setting an intention before I even touch the deck. Today, I decided to focus on the Four of Wands, because, well, who doesn’t want a little more stability and celebration in their life?
First, I cleared my space. I’m talking full-on sage burning, tidying up my desk, the whole shebang. Gotta get rid of any lingering weird vibes, right? Then, I lit a candle – a nice, warm, orange one, because that felt like a Four of Wands kind of color to me. I just wanted to make my space feel a little more, special.
Setting the Stage
Next, I held the Four of Wands card in my hands. I just stared at it for a good few minutes. I looked at the people dancing, the flowers, the solid structure in the background. I tried to really feel the energy of the card – that sense of joy, accomplishment, and coming home.

I then closed my eyes and took some deep breaths. In my mind, I pictured what I wanted to bring into my life. It wasn’t specific things, more like feelings. I visualized feeling secure in my relationships, feeling proud of the work I’m doing, and feeling like I have a solid foundation to build on. I imagined having a stable and joyful environment, and the feeling of celbration and security.
The Actual Intention Setting
Once I felt like I was really connected to that Four of Wands energy, I spoke my intention out loud. I didn’t use any fancy words or anything, just something like, “I intend to create a strong and joyful foundation in my life. I intend to welcome celebration and stability.” Simple, but it felt powerful to say it out loud.
After that, I shuffled my deck while still focusing on that Four of Wands feeling. I wasn’t thinking about specific questions, just keeping that energy of stability and celebration in my mind. When I felt ready, I pulled a few cards.
- First card I draw is: Ace of Cups
- Second card I draw is: Ten of Pentacles
- Third card I draw is: Knight of Swords
My Reflections
I wrote down the cards I pulled and my initial thoughts about them. I didn’t try to overanalyze anything, just jotted down the first things that came to mind. I feel like there are going to be lots of good things coming! I’m planning to keep the Four of Wands card on my desk all week, just as a little reminder of the intention I set. I feel like doing that helped me clarify what I really, and it has helped me focus on welcoming good things into my space! We’ll see how it goes, but I’m feeling pretty optimistic about bringing more of that Four of Wands goodness into my life!
