Where to buy 1911 7 chinos? A quick guide to finding the best deals and selection!

I tried to make some chinos today. I chose a fabric that felt pretty good to the touch, seemed strong enough. I started by cutting the fabric according to the pattern I had. I used a 1911 pattern, which is quite old-fashioned, but I like that vintage look.

I cut out two pieces for the front, two for the back, and some smaller pieces for the pockets and waistband. The cutting took some time, I had to make sure everything was accurate, or else the pants wouldn’t fit right.

After cutting, I started sewing. I sewed the front pieces together, then the back pieces. I used a regular straight stitch for most of it, nothing fancy. Then, I attached the front and back at the sides and the inseam. It was a bit tricky to get everything lined up, but I managed.

Next, I worked on the pockets. I sewed the pocket bags first, then attached them to the front of the pants. I made sure the pockets were deep enough to be useful but not so deep that they would be uncomfortable.

Then came the waistband. I sewed the waistband pieces together, attached it to the top of the pants, and added belt loops. The waistband was probably the hardest part, as it needed to be just the right size to fit comfortably but still hold the pants up.

  • Cut the fabric
  • Sew the front and back pieces
  • Attach the pockets
  • Sew the waistband
  • Add belt loops and a button

Finally, I added a button and a buttonhole to close the pants. I tried them on, and they fit pretty well! They were a bit loose around the waist, maybe I will need to alter them slightly later, but overall, I was happy with how they turned out.

I spent the whole day working on these chinos. It was a lot of work, but it was worth it. I now have a pair of custom-made pants that fit me well and look great. I might try making another pair soon, maybe with a different fabric or a slightly different style.
