Okay, so I’ve been thinking about getting a Pisces tattoo for a while now. I’m a Pisces, obviously, and I’ve always felt a strong connection to my sign. So, I finally decided to take the plunge and get some ink to show it off. Here’s how the whole thing went down.
Finding the Right Design
First things first, I needed a design. I didn’t want just any old fish, though. I wanted something unique, something that really captured the essence of being a Pisces – you know, dreamy, artistic, and a little bit mysterious. I spent hours scrolling through Pinterest and Instagram, looking at different styles. I considered:
- Two fish swimming in a circle: Classic, but a little too common for me.
- The Pisces constellation: Cool, but maybe a bit too simple?
- A watercolor design: Really pretty, and it fits the watery nature of the sign.
- Something more abstract, you could maybe do some cool tribal patterns.
I finally settled on a design that combined a few elements. Two stylized fish, but instead of a perfect circle, they were swimming in a more fluid, wave-like pattern. Also like some watercolor-like shading to give it that dreamy feel.
Choosing an Artist
Next up, finding the right artist. This was super important to me. I mean, this is going on my body permanently, so I needed someone I trusted. I checked out the portfolios of a bunch of local tattoo artists, paying close attention to their linework and shading,especially any artists that showcase fine line, watercolor, or blackwork styles. I finally found this one guy whose style I totally loved. He had some amazing black and grey work, and a lot of his pieces had that delicate, artistic feel I was going for.
The Tattooing Process
The day of the appointment, I was a little nervous, ngl. But the artist was super chill and put me at ease. We talked about the placement (I decided on my upper back, just below my neck), and he made a stencil to make sure everything was perfect.
The actual tattooing part… well, it hurt, I can’t lie. Not unbearable, but definitely not a massage either. It felt like a constant scratching, kind of like a cat digging its claws in, but in a slow, controlled way. The whole thing took about two hours, with a few short breaks.
The Finished Product
When it was finally done, I was so stoked. It looked even better than I had imagined! The lines were clean, the shading was subtle but impactful, and the whole design just flowed so well. The two fish really seemed to be swimming, and the overall effect was exactly what I wanted: a little bit mystical, a little bit artistic, and 100% Pisces.
I followed all the aftercare instructions carefully- washing gently with soap and keep applying a thin layer of ointment. It’s been a few weeks now, and it’s healing up beautifully. I’m so happy with my new ink, and I love having a permanent piece of art on my body that represents who I am.
