Okay, so yesterday I decided to try this “nine cups feelings” thing. I saw it online and thought, why not? It’s supposed to help you, like, manifest what you want. Sounds a little woo-woo, but I was feeling adventurous.
Getting Started
First, I gathered everything. You need two cups, water, sticky notes, and a pen. Pretty simple, right? I found some old sticky notes in my drawer and grabbed two glasses from the kitchen.
The Process
I filled one cup with water. That one was supposed to represent my current situation. Then I took a sticky note and wrote down how I was feeling: “Stuck and uninspired.” I stuck that note on the full cup.

The empty cup was for my desired situation. So, on another sticky note, I wrote: “Creative and motivated!” I stuck that on the empty cup.
Then came the “magic” part. I sat there for a minute, focused on the “stuck” cup, really feeling those feelings of being, well, stuck. Then I picked up the full cup and slowly poured the water into the empty cup, the one with the “creative and motivated” note. As I poured, I tried to visualize myself actually becoming creative and motivated. Like, really tried to feel it.
The Aftermath
After I finished pouring, I removed both sticky notes and drank the water. Supposedly, that seals the deal. I don’t know if I believe that, but it felt kinda good, like a little ritual.
- Did it work instantly? Nope.
- Did I suddenly become a creative genius? Not really.
But, and this is a big but, I did feel a little shift. Maybe it was just the act of acknowledging how I felt and stating what I wanted. Maybe it was the placebo effect. Whatever it was, I actually felt a bit more motivated today. I even started working on that project I’d been putting off! So, yeah, I’d say it was worth a shot. I might even try it again sometime.
