Okay, so today I wanted to try something totally new and fun – making princess cups! I’ve seen these cute crafts around and figured, why not give it a go? Plus, I had a bunch of paper cups lying around, so it was the perfect excuse to get a little crafty.
First off, I gathered all my materials. I grabbed those paper cups, some colorful construction paper, scissors, glue, and some markers. I didn’t have a clear plan, just a vague idea of making something princess-y. I thought, “Let’s just start and see where this takes us!”
I started by choosing some of my favorite colors of construction paper. I decided to try a few different designs. I thought maybe a peacock design would be really cool because those birds have that fancy, royal vibe, you know? So I cut out some blue, green, and yellow paper. I cut some feather shapes too. I just did it freehand, not too worried about making them perfect.

Then came the fun part – gluing! I started sticking the feather shapes onto the cups, trying to make them look like a peacock’s tail. It was a bit messy, and my fingers got all sticky, but it was pretty satisfying to see it come together. I added some extra details with the markers, drawing on some eyes and a beak to really make it look like a peacock.
- Cut out feather shapes from the construction paper.
- Glue the feather shapes to the paper cups.
- Add details with markers.
After finishing the peacock cup, I made a few more, trying out different designs. One was a simple pink cup with a little crown I cut out of yellow paper. Another one was a bit more elaborate, with glitter and ribbons. It was a bit of a trial-and-error process, but that’s the fun of crafting, right?
The Result
Honestly, they turned out pretty cute! Not exactly like the pictures I saw online, but they had their own charm. The peacock one is definitely my favorite. It’s got this funky, homemade look that I really like. I might use them to hold some snacks or maybe even as little planters. Who knows! The possibilities are endless with a little bit of creativity and some paper cups. This was such a fun little project, and I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a way to use up some old paper cups and get your creative juices flowing.
