Okay, so today I decided to work with the High Priestess card from my tarot deck to help set some intentions. I’ve been feeling a bit scattered lately, and I thought focusing on her energy might help me get centered.
First, I cleared my space. I lit some incense – sandalwood, my favorite – and put on some chill ambient music. Nothing with lyrics, just instrumental stuff that helps me focus. Then, I sat down at my little altar (which is really just a nice corner of my desk) and got comfortable.
I held the High Priestess card in my hands for a few minutes, just looking at it. You know, really taking in the imagery – the moon, the pillars, that serene expression on her face. I tried to empty my mind and just be present with the card.

Next, I closed my eyes and took a few deep breaths. I visualized the High Priestess in my mind’s eye and asked her for guidance in setting my intentions. I focused on what I wanted to bring into my life – more clarity, more intuition, more connection to my inner self.
After a while, I opened my eyes and grabbed my journal. I started writing down whatever came to mind. No editing, just letting it all flow. I ended up with a list of intentions that felt really aligned with what I need right now:
- Listen to my intuition more.
- Trust my gut feelings.
- Make time for quiet reflection each day.
- Pay attention to my dreams.
- Connect with nature more often.
I read through the list a few times, making sure each intention felt right. Then, I placed the High Priestess card on top of my journal, as a kind of visual reminder of what I’m working towards.
Finally, I closed my little ritual by expressing gratitude to the High Priestess for her guidance. I blew out the incense and sat in silence for a few more minutes, just soaking in the peaceful energy.
Honestly, the whole process felt really good. It wasn’t anything super complicated, but it helped me get clear on what I want to focus on. I’m going to keep my journal and the High Priestess card in a visible spot to remind myself of these intentions throughout the week. Let’s see how it goes!
