Uncover Hidden Agendas with the Friend or Foe Tarot Card Layout

Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “Friend or Foe” tarot spread pop up all over my socials, and I finally decided to give it a shot. I mean, who doesn’t have a relationship in their life that’s a little… complicated? You know, the kind where you’re not quite sure where you stand? Yeah, that’s what I was dealing with.

First things first, I grabbed my trusty tarot deck – the one I’ve had for years, the edges all worn and soft. I cleansed it with some sage, just to clear out any lingering energy. I lit a candle, too, because, why not? Makes it feel a bit more, I don’t know, official.

Getting Down to Business

I shuffled the deck, focusing on the person and the situation. Really tried to clear my mind and just be open to whatever the cards wanted to tell me. It felt kinda weird, pouring all this energy into cardboard, but hey, I was committed.

Then, I laid out the cards according to the spread. It was a simple five-card layout:

  • Card 1: What I think of them.
  • Card 2:What they think of me.
  • Card 3:What is hidden or unknown.
  • Card 4:Strengths of this relationship.
  • Card 5:Weaknesses of this relationship.

Okay, so I flipped the first card, and…bam! It was actually pretty accurate. Then the second. The “What they think of me”, it was a little confusing at first, I am going to be honest. Took me some deep thought.

The third card, the “hidden” thing, that’s where it got interesting. It was a card I usually associate with, let’s say, unexpected changes. Kind of made me sit up and pay attention. Like, maybe there’s something going on I’m totally oblivious to.

Then came 4th card, Strengths, and 5th, * last two cards, the strengths and weaknesses, they really laid it all out. The strength card was all about shared history and loyalty, which, yeah, that resonated. But the weakness card… ouch. It pointed to some serious communication issues and maybe a bit of stubbornness on both sides.

The Big Reveal

I sat there for a good while, just staring at the cards, letting it all sink in. It wasn’t some magical “aha!” moment, but more like… a slow dawning of understanding. The cards didn’t tell me anything I didn’t already know, deep down. They just kind of… brought it to the surface, you know?

So, did it solve all my problems? Nope. Did it give me some clarity and a new perspective? Absolutely. I actually wrote down the cards I pulled and my interpretations in my journal. I’m planning on revisiting it in a few weeks, see if anything’s shifted.

It showed some areas where the relationship is super solid and worth working on. I felt really validated, to be honest. I am going to make the effort on this relationship.

Overall, it was a surprisingly helpful experience. Will I do it again? Probably. It’s not a magic bullet, but it’s a cool tool for self-reflection and getting a different angle on things. Might even try it with a different deck next time, just to shake things up.
