Alright, so today, I set out to do a tarot week spread. First, I grabbed my favorite deck, the one I’ve had for years and really connect with. I took a few deep breaths, cleared my mind, and shuffled the cards while thinking about my week ahead. What did I need to know? What should I be focusing on? Those kinds of things, you know?
After shuffling, I cut the deck into three piles and then put them back together. Then, I started laying out the cards in the spread pattern I’d decided on. Some folks like to do a card for each day, but I did a general overview with seven cards. I use a simple, classic layout.
Card 1: The overall theme for the week. This one sets the stage, like a preview of what’s to come.

-
Card 2:
What I should focus on at the beginning of the week.
-
Card 3:
Challenges I might face mid-week.
-
Card 4:
What will help me overcome those challenges.
-
Card 5:
Unexpected events or surprises.
-
Card 6:
What I should focus on towards the end of the week.
-
Card 7:
The likely outcome or lesson of the week.
As I laid each card down, I took my time to really look at it. What’s the imagery? What’s my gut reaction? I jotted down some notes in my journal about each card and my initial thoughts. I use these notes to help me to think.
The first card, the theme, was the “Sun.” It is pretty positive, right? It got me thinking about optimism and success. Maybe it’s gonna be a good week after all!

Then, for the early week focus, I got the “Three of Cups.” That’s all about celebrations and friendships. I made a mental note to maybe plan something fun with my pals. This card made me feel that I should prepare a small party or a dinner.
Mid-week challenge was the dreaded “Tower.” Uh oh, that usually means some kind of upheaval or unexpected change. I just prepared some plan B.
But then, the card to overcome challenges was the “Strength” card. That felt reassuring—it’s about inner strength and courage. I can handle whatever comes my way.
The “surprise” card was the “Wheel of Fortune”. It is about destiny and turning points, so it could really be anything! It told me to be ready for something big to change.
Towards the end of the week, I should focus on the “Page of Pentacles.” It is like new opportunities, especially related to work or finances. I figured I should keep my eyes open for chances to learn or maybe make some extra money.
Finally, the outcome card was the “Ten of Cups.” It is a pretty darn good card—it’s all about happiness and emotional fulfillment. It sounds like things will wrap up nicely.
After laying out all the cards, I spent some time reflecting on the spread as a whole. I looked for connections between the cards and how they might relate to what’s going on in my life right now. I also keep the Tarot book in mind to double-check my interpretations.
I wrote down more detailed thoughts in my journal, trying to make sense of it all. It’s like putting together a puzzle, you know? Sometimes the message is clear right away, other times it takes a while to sink in.

And that’s pretty much it! I’ll keep these cards in mind throughout the week and see how things unfold. Sometimes I’ll do a daily draw for more detail, but for now, this weekly spread gives me a good roadmap. It’s always an adventure seeing how the cards reflect real life. Tarot has given me so many lessons!
