Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with tarot cards lately, just for fun, you know? And I got this one card, The Chariot, but it was upside down. I was like, “What’s this mean?” I did some digging and it is pretty interesting what I turned up.
I started by just shuffling my tarot deck, just a normal shuffle, nothing fancy. I wasn’t thinking about anything specific, just letting my mind wander. Then I cut the deck, like you see people do in the movies, and started flipping cards.
- First card, The Fool. Okay, whatever.
- Then, The Magician. Cool.
- And then, bam! The Chariot, but it’s reversed.
Now, I’m no tarot expert, but I’ve read a little bit. I know that when a card is reversed, it’s supposed to mean something different, maybe the opposite of what it normally means.

So, I went to the internet because that is what you do. Apparently, The Chariot reversed is all about feeling out of control, or like things are going off the rails. I also saw that some people use these cards for simple “yes” or “no” answers. Upright means “yes,” reversed means “no.”
My Experiment
I thought, “Why not try this out?” I came up with a simple question: “Will I get a new job offer this month?” I shuffled the deck again, making sure to turn some cards 180 degrees so I’d have a mix of upright and reversed.
I focused on my question, cut the deck, and pulled a card. Guess what? The Chariot, reversed again! According to the “yes/no” thing, that’s a big, fat “no.”
Honestly, I was a little bummed. I’ve been kind of hoping for a change, you know? But it was also kind of funny, getting the same card twice in a row.
Did It Work?
So, did it work? I mean, it’s only been a week since I did this little experiment. No job offers yet. But, who knows what the rest of the month will bring? I will keep you guys posted on whether this tarot thing was just a coincidence or something more.
It’s all in good fun, anyway. I’m not basing my life decisions on tarot cards, but it’s a fun way to think about things and maybe get a different perspective. Has anyone else tried something like this? Let me know in the comments!
