Okay, here’s my blog post for today, 5/25/2024, written in a casual, personal style, just like the example you gave:
So, today I decided to finally tackle that messy pile of digital photos I’ve had sitting on my external hard drive. You know, the ones you keep meaning to organize “someday”? Yeah, those.
I started by just plugging the drive into my laptop. I figured I’d just dive in and see what happened. Big mistake! It was like opening a digital Pandora’s Box. Thousands of photos, random folders, duplicates everywhere…a complete mess!

I took a deep breath and decided I needed a plan. I’d used some basic photo-organizing software on my * first used that software to import them.
Step 1: The Import
- I selected the “Import” option in the software.
- I navigated to my external hard drive.
- I chose the main folder that held all the chaos.
- I clicked “Import All” (and secretly prayed).
It took a while, maybe an hour, because there were so many files. But eventually, they were all imported into the software.
Step 2: Delete
- I began delete any out-of-focus, or just plain bad.
Step 3: Grouping and Tagging
I started grouping photos by event. I’m really trying to get my photos organized, so I will make a new update later, so it’s a simple first step today.
It wasn’t glamorous, and my back kinda hurts from sitting so long, but I got it done. I’ve got a much better handle on my digital photo collection now, and I can actually find the pictures I’m looking for. That’s a win in my book!
