Okay, so today I decided to dive into something a bit different – the 4th pentacle of Mercury. I’ve been curious about this stuff for a while, and figured, why not give it a shot and see what happens? I’m a practical person, I like to get my hands dirty, so this was right up my alley.
Getting Started
First things first, I needed to, you know, actually find the darn thing. It is not easy to find the right picture. Finally I got a relatively clear picture for it.
The Ritual (or, My Version of It)
Now, I’m not a super ritualistic person. I believe in intention and focus, but I’m not about to start chanting in ancient languages (unless I’m really feeling it, haha). So, my “ritual” was pretty simple:

- Clear the Space: I cleaned up my desk, made sure I wouldn’t be disturbed. Basic stuff. No phone, no music, just me and the pentacle.
- Focus: I looked at image of the pentacle, I just let my eyes kind of wander over it. Tried to clear my head, you know? Just be present.
- Draw It:Then I tried to draw the image. I used my pen and follow the line on the image and draw the same on my notebook. It is kind of meditation, I think.
- The “Request”: Okay, this is where it gets a bit woo-woo. I basically just thought about what I wanted. For the 4th pentacle of Mercury, it’s supposed to be about knowledge, understanding, and uncovering hidden things. It’s all in my head, I said my desire in my mind, not speak it out.
- Carry It Around: I kept the pentacle close. I actually printed out a small version and put it in my wallet. Just a reminder of my intention.
What Happened? (The “Results”)
Alright, so did the heavens open up and shower me with ancient wisdom? Not exactly. But… things did happen. Over the next few days, I noticed a few things:
- I had a series of really interesting conversations with the silimar practioner.
- My focus got stronger.
So, was it the pentacle? Was it just coincidence? I don’t know. But I do know that taking the time to focus on my intention, to actively seek knowledge and understanding, definitely had a positive effect. It’s like setting a goal – even if you don’t achieve it exactly as planned, the act of striving for it changes things.
My Takeaway
I’m going to keep experimenting with this. I think there’s something to be said for these ancient symbols and the power of focused intention. It might not be magic in the Hollywood sense, but it’s definitely a way to tap into your own inner resources. And hey, even if it’s all in my head, it’s my head, and I’m making it work for me.
I’m going to do more research and maybe try some other pentacles. I’ll keep you guys posted!
