Okay, so the other day, I was feeling kinda blah. You know, just unmotivated and stuck in a rut. I decided to pull a tarot card for some guidance, and I got the 4 of Cups reversed. I’ve been trying to get a handle on what cards mean as feelings, so this was a good chance to dig in.
First, I grabbed my favorite tarot deck and shuffled it while focusing on my emotions. I was really trying to get a sense of what was going on inside. Then, I pulled the card – 4 of Cups, reversed.
My Process
- Initial Reaction: Honestly, my first thought was, “Ugh, what does THAT mean?” I’m still pretty new to this, so reversals can be tricky. I knew the upright 4 of Cups is about boredom, apathy, and maybe missing opportunities. I took a deep breath.
- Journaling: I grabbed my notebook and started writing down everything that came to mind about the card’s image. There’s this person sitting under a tree, looking kinda glum, with three cups in front of them and another one being offered, which they’re ignoring. Reversed, it felt…different.
- Considering the Reversal: This is where it got interesting. Instead of total apathy, the reversed card felt like a shift. It was like, maybe I was starting to wake up from that blah feeling. It was a sign, an opportunity.
- Connecting it to My Feelings: I realized I had been feeling disconnected and uninspired. But, seeing the card reversed, it was like a little nudge. I was starting to see new possibilities, new things to be interested in. I was becoming less of a sad sack and more excited.
I spent some time just sitting with the card and thinking about what areas of my life I might be ready to re-engage with. It wasn’t a magical fix, but it definitely gave me a new perspective on how I was feeling. I have finally seen some light in the tunnel. The tarot helped me see that the “blah-ness” wasn’t going to last forever, and that was pretty cool.
