Okay, so the other day I kept seeing the number 149 everywhere. Like, seriously everywhere. On license plates, on the clock, even on the receipt for my morning coffee. It was getting a little freaky, so I decided to do something about it.
My 149 Experiment Begins
First, I grabbed my journal. I’m a big believer in writing things down, even if they seem silly at the time. I made a big, bold heading: “149 Sightings.” Underneath, I started to log every time I saw the number.
- Date: Monday, October 26th
- Time: 7:32 AM
- Location: On the bus number going downtown.
I did this for a few days. Every time 149 popped up, I jotted it down. I noted the date, time, and where I saw it. It was kind of like being a number detective!

Then, I decided to take it a step further. I started paying attention to what I was doing or thinking about right before I saw 149. Was I stressed? Happy? Thinking about a specific problem? I added another column to my journal for these “pre-149 thoughts.”
- Date: Tuesday, October 27th
- Time: 1:49 PM (ha!)
- Location: Order number at the sandwich shop.
- Pre-149 Thoughts: Wondering if I should take that new online course.
After about a week of this, I sat down to analyze my data. It wasn’t exactly scientific, but I did notice some patterns. A lot of the times I saw 149, I was thinking about changes in my life – new projects, potential career shifts, that kind of thing.
So, I dug a little deeper and I did is just look it up, look up what that number represents, maybe some messages.
It turns out a bunch of people actually believe is like a sign, or others call it angel numbers and that this particular one is about taking action on your life purpose and trusting your intuition.
Honestly, even if you don’t believe in all that, the whole process was really helpful. It forced me to be more mindful of my thoughts and surroundings. And hey, it gave me a fun little project to work on!
I have been doing some of these things I have had in mind, my goals I have been planning for, and now I am doing and I am seeing the progress and the good results from it, I feel happy.
So, I’ll be keeping this journal!.
